Fuel Pump Tool
Engine management and emission control supplier Pierburg, offers a new tool to workshop technicians and mechanics. It is a device to aid the dismantling/mounting of fuel pumps with angled delivery-pipe tubes, e.g. on BMW 5 Series (E39) cars. These cars have the fuel pumps positioned in a fixture ("sleeve") inside the fuel tank. The tool is intended for detaching electric fuel pumps from this fixture.
By using this reasonably priced and environmentally friendly solution, it is no longer necessary to replace the complete fuel pump with its fixture - only the fuel pump itself needs to be replaced. The use of this tool is explained in step-by-step detail in Service Information SI 0068, as well as in the mounting instructions enclosed with the relevant Pierburg fuel pumps. |
