Spill Management

The financial fine for an environmental spill can just be the tip of the iceberg.

With responsibilities towards pollution control increasing, employers are required to consider the solutions needed to meet these environmental obligations. This includes the safe management of oil and chemical spillages, which if ignored can result in a criminal offence and a high monetary fine.

Consequently, spill kits must be placed on site in order to comply with the Pollution Prevention Guidelines (PPGs) and Oil Storage Regulations as set out by the Environment Agency, providing good practice towards employee health and safety. These guidelines ensure that companies manage their environmental responsibilities and comply with the law.

Range overview

The product range features market leading and technologically advanced absorbents, wipes, spill kits, containment products, bio-remediation and specialist oil/water filtration products. Not only is it a suitable for sell-on, but it also poses the perfect solution to help your workplace meet the same legislations.

Absorbents

Absorbents are available in high performance polypropylene and also in environmentally friendly recycled and natural fibre options. Absorbents are now the preferred way of containing and recovering a spill. In a comparison with granules, absorbents are much lighter, quicker to absorb, more cost effective to purchase, and less costly to dispose of.

Maintenance absorbents are suitable for indoor use and absorb oil, coolant, anti-freeze and water-based spills, making them very useful for workshops. Both absorbents are available in sheets, pads, rolls, socks, pillows, booms and drum tops.

Wipes
Ecospill’s wipes are made from a revolutionary spun lace ‘none polypropylene’ material. They offer a unique combination of toughness and absorbency making them highly desirable in the workshop.

Spill kits
Oil-only, maintenance and chemical types are available, with environmentally friendly, sustainable fibre absorbents as an option. Ecospill kits range from portable versions (ideal for having on-board delivery vehicles) to larger wheeled and static plastic bin varieties (perfect for workshop or factory floor locations). These spill kits feature everything needed to contain and recover a spill including instructions and guidance on disposal.

Containment products
Plastic and metal containment products are designed to store and manage fluids in Oil Storage Regulations compliant rigid containers. Ecospill’s range includes spill pallets, spill trays, lockable cupboards, dispensing stations and work floors. The built in sump self-contains any leaks or spills. A range of drain covers and spill barriers also prevents spills from reaching drains.

Bio-remediation

Enzymes that feed on hydrocarbons such as oils and fuels are digested and converted into carbon dioxide and water. Bio-remediation is an environmentally friendly way of removing oil stains from surfaces as diverse as tarmac, concrete and block paving, making them suitable for use in the workshop.
