Lighten Up the Heavy-Duty Tasks

With an extensive range of automotive springs across numerous applications, KILEN explains the significance of heavy-duty coil springs for Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV).

Shuttling up and down motorways, country roads and uneven driveways, LCVs carry the weight of businesses across the UK. Loaded and unloaded with goods multiple times a day, LCV coil springs must be strong enough to support loads without compromising on vehicle handling whilst they travel from job to job.

Popularly known for its leading range of coil springs for passenger cars, gas springs and a comprehensive range of leaf springs for commercial vehicles, Kilen also has an extensive range of standard and heavy-duty coil springs for LCVs. The LCV range also covers popular UK applications such as the Ford Transit Connect, Citroën Berlingo, Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Partner and Volkswagen Transporter.

HIGHLIGHTS:

·         11479A for Citroën Berlingo 1.6 (2010-2016)

·         13443 for Ford Transit 2.2 (2011-2014)

·         60022 for Vauxhall Combo 1.3 (2006-2012)

UP FOR ANY JOB

Kilen coil springs use only steel of the highest grade from selected mills to achieve the exceptional surface and internal wire quality necessary for modern suspension springs. Each Kilen spring is protected from corrosion using a chemical process called zinc phosphating and painted with an epoxy powder resin which is much more durable than standard paint.

Kilen’s heavy-duty coil spring replacements are 15 to 30% stronger than standard springs, allowing the springs to support a heavier load without compromising on vehicle handling. With a progressive spring rate, Kilen’s heavy-duty coil springs only increase resistance proportionately to the load it carries.

FIXINGS FOR A HASSLE-FREE SOLUTION

Kilen coil springs hold the same quality as those from original vehicle manufacturers and can therefore be installed by authorised repair workshops without any warranty restrictions.

Whilst the majority of OE coil springs are made from parallel spring wire that maintains a constant thickness throughout the length of the spring, a small number of OE manufacturers employ tapered wire springs on a limited number of applications in order to achieve a slight weight saving.

To provide a choice for installers, Kilen’s coil spring range incorporates a selection of tapered wire alternatives for the OE look with a 2-year warranty to sit alongside their existing parallel wire designs for durability with a 3-year warranty.

CATEGORICALLY COMPREHENSIVE

Kilen consistently review and update their ranges to ensure that their portfolio caters for market trends and demands. Electronic catalogues are updated automatically to ensure that Kilen customers also have access to the latest springs in the range as quickly as possible – reducing the need to use expensive OE springs on newer vehicle applications.

For easy searching and vast cross-referencing data in the palm of the hand, Kilen has also introduced a comprehensive free mobile app.

The Kilen app is available for download for iOS and Android users allowing motor trade professionals to find the right spring every time.
