Engine Drive Belts

V Belt and Multi Rib Market

V-belts and Multi-Ribbed V-Belts by QRS

Competitively priced v-belts and multi-ribbed v-belts from QRS meet the growing market demand for quality products without premium price tags. The entry-level range increases customer choice, catering for both modern engines and older engine systems.

More modern and compact engines run multi-ribbed v-belts to enhance power transmission to increasingly complex accessories, whilst older vehicles still rely upon several good-quality v-belts working together in the system.

V-Belts

Despite the propensity towards multi-ribbed v-belts in engine design, there remains a huge sales opportunity for v-belts within the aged-vehicle sector where they drive low-output alternators and water pumps. V-belts are made from durable and flexible rubber and undergo rigorous testing to ensure great quality.

The top ten references currently supply 1.4 million vehicles across 2,200 applications in the UK car parc; hence the importance of their availability.

Vehicles including the Mitsubishi Challenger 2.5 TDiC (98-09), Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 (93-00) and Mitsubishi Shogun (00>), all use v-belts to drive accessories.

The Ford Transit 12.50 1.5 8V (58-65) which is still serviced today – over 50 years since its creation – relies on quality v-belts to drive accessories.

Multi-Ribbed V-Belts

The demands being placed on the accessory belt drive system (ABDS) are becoming increasingly complex. More accessories require more power distribution and designs have developed to just one belt driving all accessories.

With maximum belt-to-pulley contact, QRS’ multi-ribbed v-belts have been manufactured to optimise contact area, for efficient power transfer. The high-quality rubber withstands the high temperatures generated by modern engines and the multi-v grooves create better surface engagement and gripping of pulleys.

The range covers over 80% of the UK car parc including the popular Peugeot 307 1.4/1.6 (01-09), Volkswagen Golf 1.6/1.8/2.0/1.9D (97-09) and Ford Transit 350 2.4D (00>).

Both belt designs by QRS are manufactured with flexible and durable rubber to prevent slipping, cracking and eroding.

Fitment Advice

Extensive testing guarantees optimum performance. To avoid costly engine damage and potentially dangerous driving situations, the accessory belt drive system should be inspected whenever vehicles are serviced, and replaced at the first signs of wear. If the ABDS fails, power can be lost to safety critical systems, including power steering which can lead to unsafe driving conditions.

Aftercare

QRS’ technical assistance and warranty scheme give an added extra to the emerging brand. The premium aftercare service includes a hotline, where a team of dedicated advisors are on hand to answer fitting and warranty questions. Call 0844 980 0089 (Mon – Fri), or email [email protected]

All QRS products are covered by a 2 year/ 20,000 mile warranty – whichever comes first.
